Freelance Finished Artist/Typesetter

Gia is a freelance Finished Artist who works under the business name of 'giagraphics'. She has a wealth of experience, as she has worked as a Finished Artist for the past 27 years and has been freelancing in Sydney for 22 years. She is always looking to expand her knowledge.

Over the years she has freelanced in a huge variety of businesses around Sydney, including advertising agencies, design studios and publishing houses.

She is well accustomed to working at speed within a busy studio environment and is able to swiftly gain an overview of a situation in order to prioritise her workload whilst remaining calm under pressure and whilst producing accurate, high quality, print ready artwork to meet any deadline. She has a great eye for detail and typography and enjoys working as part of a team or is very capable of taking a brief and working with it on her own.

After freelancing for so many years she has gained a wide range of experience across most areas of print, including, but not limited to, all forms of Advertising (above and below the line), Annual Reports (both the editorial and financial sections), DM, Retail, Catalogues, Point-of-Sale etc. These days a high volume of work also may involve the set up of online eDMs and Web page layouts in Photoshop.

Moving into the future

Gia loves learning and embracing all the new features of InDesign and her industry in general. Last year she made her own iPad App using InDesign which is for sale in the App Store and is now again using InDesign to change it into an Interactive Fixed Layout eBook. This iPad App/eBook is a set of flash cards designed for yoga students to learn on-the-go. She has also made her own website through Adobe Muse to market these.

This is still a huge work in progress, and to enable her to learn how to make websites like a pro and also further her career, she is currently studying Front End Web Development in a 10 week part-time course. Previous to this she has just completed a Digital Marketing Course to help her learn how to market her website and online store to sell her eBooks.
